ABOUT ISA MUNDO

The Isa Mundo Foundation is dedicated to supporting small, local and international projects by collaborating and partnering with other not-for-profit, non-governmental and community organizations to improve the situation of families and communities around the world.

Isa Mundo will provide assistance and care to children and youth, environmental health and education projects identified by communities. It is with hope that Isa Mundo can make a difference in bettering the lives of those less fortunate.

Meet the Team

Paul Lorilla

Director and Founder
Chair, Education Projects
B.A. (University of Waterloo, Canada)
M.A. (Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada)

Paul was born and raised in a poor barangay (village) in the Philippines where access to basic education can be a key out of poverty. Upon settling in Canada, he was academically exposed to human rights, development, social justice and indigenous issues. Paul has visited various developing countries and has seen first hand the social and economic struggles and inequalities people are facing today. He believes that education is the most valuable tool that can be used to empower children and communities to reach their full potential.

“People have so many ideas and solutions regarding how to help those less fortunate. I think in the end, we just need to start with one project and if it influenced change in a positive way, then continue the project in other communities who may need us.”

Dr. Vicki Marlatt

Chair, Environmental Health Projects
B.Sc. (Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, Canada)
M.Sc. (University of Guelph, Guelph, Canada)
Ph.D. (University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Canada)

Through her academic career Vicki has gained expertise in the fields of biology and environmental toxicology. This also resulted in her interest in various environmental issues related to humans and their impacts on the ecosystems that sustain them. “Today’s environmental issues can seem overwhelming, but we have the tools and resources to make a difference now. This will take a collaborative effort, and most importantly, ambition.”
